About SoCal Home Health

Last updated: July 29, 2026

SoCal Home Health is a free education service for Southern California families who are helping an older loved one stay safe and cared for at home.

Why we exist

Arranging care for an aging parent or spouse is overwhelming. The information is scattered across dozens of government sites, the words are confusing, and much of what you find online is really just a sales pitch.

We built SoCal Home Health to be the opposite: clear, plain-language guides and simple tools that answer real questions — in eight languages — so families can make good decisions without paying anything or handing over their information.

Who this is for

Adult children caring for a parent. Spouses caring for each other. Anyone in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and the surrounding areas trying to understand home care, Medicare, Medi-Cal, IHSS, VA benefits, dementia care, and how to pay for it all.

How we're funded

Everything on this site is free to use, with no account required. We keep it free because, when a family is ready for hands-on help, we can connect them with a trusted local home-health provider who serves their area.

Using our guides and tools never costs anything and never obligates you to anything. If you reach out through our contact form, we share what you tell us with a local provider so they can follow up — and that's the only time your information leaves this site. We never sell your information.

This is education, not medical advice

The guides here are reviewed for accuracy and cite authoritative sources, but they are general information — not medical, legal, or financial advice, and not a substitute for professional care. Always talk with a doctor or a qualified professional about your specific situation. In an emergency, call 911.

Talk to a real person

Have a question about care at home in Southern California? Reach out through our contact page and a caring local person will help — free, and with no obligation.
